Toy Boat Productions presents its third annual Happy F*@#ing Holidays, 8pm December 27, 28, and 29 at the Coho Theater (2257 NW Raleigh). This is a show of 14 ten minute or less plays designed to highlight local talent and relieve holiday stress.
…This year Santa, Cupid and The Easter Bunny are all fighting for their jobs as a corporate suit has decided to replace them with sexier icons in Mergers and Jubilations by local author Sean Davis. Details at 6 by Sha Sha Sassone amuse and shocks while questioning the idea of where the line is drawn between pacifism and protection at a Christmas Eve peace rally. Nutcracker Massacre by Nathan Wells shows just how far a dancer might go for the lead in a hilarious debacle. Also explored are the sordid lives of the reindeers wives, what your Christmas gifts think of you, the private thoughts of light-up lawn reindeer, a very irreverent look at the immaculate conception, and several sides of Santa that may make you rethink leaving out those cookies and milk this year.
This year’s performances are a benefit for The Bradley-Angle House, a local shelter for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault serving individuals and their families of all cultures, ages and sexual orientations.
