I watched your statement today on ESPN, the one where you stood in front of an army of reporters aiming microphones and cameras into your chest. You had that beautiful new suit on, the dark blue one perfectly tailored to accentuate your big shoulders. I was impressed by your composure there, and also by your humility when you said that you weren’t a very good public speaker and that you needed to just talk from your heart. So you started talking. And you said the word “apologize” a lot. And your new suit flickered from all those flashbulbs. And you kept saying the word “apologize.” And then you said something about Accepting The Lord Jesus Into Your Life. And then you started referring to yourself in the third person. And then another mention of Jesus. And then the third person you had a conversation with the first person you about Accepting The Lord Jesus Into Your Lives. And then all the flashbulbs stopped and the room went absolutely silent. And then you both walked out, wrapped in that beautiful suit and shoulders waving goodbye.
I’m only writing this because I’m curious how that conversation ended.
Wait. No, that’s not right.
I’m only writing this because I know how that conversation ended.
Yeah. That sounds right.
