Curt White in The Oregonian

Andy Parker, a columnist for The Oregonian, has a nice write-up here on Curtis White.

[excerpt:]

White is what I call a historian of the present. He pushes us to see what the members of the ruling class of virtually every nation or tribe throughout history have proved incapable of seeing: That we are our own worst enemy. And the world’s.

Because try as we’d like to do good, we’re most interested in self-preservation — keeping our own lifestyle, however stripped down and green and PC it might be.

Depressing? White would argue quite the opposite. That ignoring it is what’s depressing.

We’re expecting a full house tonight in the McLoughlin Theater for the event, so if you’re planning to attend, come early.
